It's a GIRL!!!

Well, I've heard that some of you readers know that we are adopting a little girl and are anxiously awaiting to see pictures of her!! We have known about her for about a month now. She was delivered by c-section on May 15, 2009 at 7:55 am. We ended up spending every day last weekend in the hospital with her and getting to know and form a good relationship with her birthmom. I know that there were a lot of people that were surprised that we brought home a little girl because of the fact that we weren't telling very many people to protect us from having the same thing happen to us again. We definitely had our guard up after the last situation but obviously this one turned out much better as we have her in our home to love and care for. So sorry if we lied to any of you but we felt it was best that very few people knew about her just in case.

We have named her Kylee Delight. She is a beautiful little girl and by little I mean she weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 18 3/4 inches long at birth. She came home at 6 lbs 5 oz and weighed in at 6 lbs 3 oz at the doctors office on Thursday. Hopefully she starts gaining some weight soon. Now that we have found a nipple that she can take and handle I think she is doing better with feeding not that she really had a problem but the slow nipple was too slow and the fast nipple was too fast. We found a medium flow nipple that fits our bottles and that seems to be working better.

She is a doll and we are in love with her. The dogs even love her. Marli is so interested in her when she's awake and making noises. They both get up with me in the middle of the night and come into her room where I feed her at night. Tassi wasn't too sure of her at first but now is interested in what is making the noises! She loves to swing and also loves to sit in her bouncy seat. She has definitely kept me busy. She is so adorable and looks good in anything that I dress her in. I love dressing her up and have lots of cute newborn outfits to do so with. She is still a little peanut and even the newborn items are big on here. Hopefully that means she will be in them longer so we can use all of her clothes more than once!!

We love showing her off and so we are definitely up for visitors but just let us know ahead of time that you are coming so that we can at least try to make oursleves presentable!!! She takes up a lot of our time but she is so worth it! Alright, I'm sure you're thinking pictures already!!! So here are a couple that we have taken. Enjoy!

Changes...

I'm one of those people that like to change their hair style A LOT!!! Anyways, I had my hair appointment back home yesterday. I always go back home to my hairdresser because I don't trust anyone else to do my hair. I don't know what I will do when she decides to retire. I know there are some of you who go to the same place and would say the same thing. She just can't ever retire. Anyways, so I decided to change my hairstyle AGAIN! I liked the way it looked before but I liked it better curled and I don't like taking the time to curl my hair. I like it simple and when it doesn't take much time. So I cut it even shorter than what it was. I am very pleased with the way it turned out. And guess what....I don't have to curl it to make it look nice.....yeah! Here is a picture....it's not a very good one but it will have to do for now!!

Since I went home I got to spend some time with my mom while dad worked on Scott's car. Thank goodness I have a mechanic for a dad. It cost us a ton less than what it would have, plus a couple of the things that the garage said were wrong with the car really weren't! Gotta love those places. While he was doing that Mom and I got to share some pictures and talk about what some of our plans are for scrapbooking in a couple of weeks! I can't wait. I haven't scrapbooked in a long time. We even thought about just taking our computers and doing digital scrapping!!! Would that be cheating??? We didn't know but it would be a lot less hassel of only taking the computer instead of all the other stuff!!! HA! We don't know, we'll probably end up taking all of the other STUFF!

Homestudy

Okay so we finally got our copy of our homestudy in the mail today. It took longer to get here than what I thought it would. I haven't had the chance to look it over yet but hubby did. He said it looked good. It just makes it feel a little more real now that we actually have the paperwork to prove it! Anyways, still just waiting here. Some days are harder than others. But we will get through it!.

Waiting

Well, we are at the waiting stage of the adoption process. We were in such a hurry and excited to get to this stage and now I don't like it. I'm not liking the waiting and not knowing what is going on. But then again, I wouldn't want to know every time that our profile is being shown either. That would be hard and very draining. In the meantime, I'm trying to keep myself busy by taking pictures and doing other things. Waiting is hard but I'm sure we will make it through it all just fine.

Our most recent pic. Taken by us in our backyard! We used this pic in part of our profile book.

Officially Approved!

Okay updating this just for my Bethany board friends!!! LOL Anyways, as most of you know we have been going through the adoption process to adopt a baby domestically. As of December 12, 2008 we were officially approved for adoption. We are now waiting to hand in our profile books, DVDs and letters to the birthparents. We are waiting to be chosen and bring our baby home. Please keep us in your prayers. I will try to keep this updated now since we are officially approved.

It's been a long time....

It has been a long time since I last posted on here. We have been busy with a lot of things. I just wanted to let everyone know that we submitted our formal application for adoption on Thursday, September 11th. We received an email on this past Wednesday that said our formal application has been approved. We are now waiting to get a packet of paperwork from our office and then after that is the home study. We are really excited to get things going on this, as we are both ready to add a baby to this house. I was so excited when I opened up the email that said our application was approved. Yeah! Anyways, I hope to keep this updated more often now. I just need to make it a habit to get on here again!
